Drawings for March

Hello! Today is the first day of spring, though I probably won’t send this for another couple of days.

1. Four days in New York

I spent four days in New York visiting a very important baby. I thought I’d make a bunch of drawings but I made exactly two, one on the subway (of course) and one on an oversized postcard to my kid.

2. Drawings of mothers and babies

I was not expecting to come across so many Mary Cassatt prints and drawings!!!

This distant gaze captures so many things perfectly
And this, simultaneously loving and hating being smothered by a baby

3. That’s a wrap on term 1 of Anatomy and Physiology

In ten weeks we learned about body systems and cavities and membranes, tissues, skin, bones, muscles, and the beginning of the nervous system. Taking suggestions on what to do with all of these (hundreds of) flash cards.

4. Obligatory reminder of my book preorder link: click here, out in April

I just learned that it will also be available in Spanish via PRH Mexico :)

An interior snippet courtesy of my publisher. This prompt is inspired by Yoko Ono’s “Mask Piece” from her book Grapefruit (1964).
This one is personal, because I’m not very good at “getting over” people.
  1. A Portrait of the Artist as a Mother With a Cold, Trying to Get to Bed Early

Thank you for your support!
